Lumbus Live Terms
These terms cover Lumbus Live — the encoders, Lumbus Multi-network SIMs, Lumbus Connect and Lumbus Studio — and add to the Lumbus Terms of Service, which apply to every Lumbus product. Where the two differ for Lumbus Live, these terms win.
Read together with the Lumbus Terms of Service. Last updated 3 September 2026.
1. Who you’re dealing with
Lumbus Live is provided by Lumbus Technologies Limited, registered in England & Wales (company no. 16793515), 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. You can reach us at live@getlumbus.com.
You use one Lumbus account for everything — this site, the studio, the Lumbus Live app and, if you ever need them, travel eSIMs. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you’re responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you invite to your studio and the roles you give them.
2. Early access and pricing
Lumbus Live is in early access. Hardware, Lumbus Connect and Lumbus Studio prices on our pricing page are the prices you pay, in US dollars, before taxes, duties and shipping, which are shown separately. SIM allowance figures are baseline rates: the rate for the countries you stream from is confirmed with you in writing before anything is billed.
Where the site shows a crossed-out figure beside a Studio price, the crossed-out figure is the standard price and the lower one is the early streamer price you pay. If what you pay is to change, we email you before it does, as the section on changes below says.
Our price list is in US dollars. Where the site shows pounds or euros, that is a conversion at the day’s rate, rounded to whole units, for convenience only; the amount and the currency you are billed are confirmed with you in writing before anything is billed.
Nothing is charged until you have confirmed your order in writing, and no service is added to an order unless you switch it on.
3. Lumbus Multi-network SIMs (4G/5G)
Lumbus Multi-network SIMs are the 4G/5G SIMs on your account and the allowance they share. The SIMs are fitted in a Lumbus encoder bought from us, or delivered to you to fit in your own equipment. You buy an allowance of gigabytes — monthly, or for a single trip — shared across every Lumbus SIM you hold. Priced allowances run from 100 GB to 500 GB a month; 1 TB or more is quoted for your route. The price follows the countries you stream from and is confirmed in writing before it starts.
- We never cut you off mid-stream and we do not charge surprise overages. You get usage alerts before an allowance runs out, and you choose whether to top up or move to a larger allowance.
- Your allowance includes the traffic used to protect your stream, such as bonding overhead and retransmissions. Actual usage depends on bitrate, network quality and redundancy settings. As a planning guide, expect your video bitrate plus about 20%.
- Your own connections are not Lumbus SIMs. Starlink, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and SIMs you bought elsewhere stay billed by whoever provides them, and none of their traffic counts against your SIM allowance — though it does count towards Lumbus Connect when you bond it (section 4).
- A monthly allowance renews monthly and can be cancelled at any time. It runs to the end of the period you have paid for and then stops; there are no refunds for the unused part of a period. If a fault on our side left it unusable, we credit you for the time lost.
- Connectivity runs over local mobile networks that we don’t own or control. We can’t promise a particular speed or coverage in a particular place, and a network that slows, throttles or suspends service is outside our control.
- Your Lumbus SIMs and their allowance are for your own live streaming and the equipment around it. Reselling data, running it as a fixed home or office line, or using it for anything unlawful ends the allowance.
4. Lumbus Connect (multi-link bonding)
Lumbus Connect combines two or more connections into one reliable stream. What you buy is a bonding allowance, measured in gigabytes; it is not a SIM allowance, and streaming over a single connection does not use it and does not require it.
- Every Niña and Pinta includes a 100 GB starter bonding allowance for Lumbus Connect, valid for three months — sized for setup, testing and first streams, not for a month of bonded streaming. It starts when you first combine connections, and we confirm the start of the three months with you.
- Your bonding allowance comes with its own sign-in, set up on a Lumbus encoder bought from us or provided to you for your own equipment. Your balance is held there; the Lumbus app and dashboard do not meter it. More is added from Plan & add-ons in your dashboard, which does not require a studio.
- Further bonding allowance is bought as a pack, not as a monthly plan. Each pack has an allowance and a validity shown at the point of sale, and it expires at the end of that validity whether or not it has been used.
- If a pack runs out during a stream we add a 20 GB bonding allowance free of charge so the stream can finish; it is a bridge to your next pack, not a recurring allowance.
- Lumbus Connect counts the traffic that passes through the bonding service: the bonded stream coming in, and every copy going out — each destination it delivers to, any live preview kept open in the receiving service, and any recording pulled from it. Bonding more connections does not add to it; sending to more destinations does. When Lumbus Studio is the destination, the studio’s delivery to your platforms runs on Lumbus and counts as one output.
- Every connection you bond feeds the incoming stream — Lumbus SIMs, your own SIMs, Ethernet and Starlink alike. That stream already contains bonding overhead and retransmissions; nothing is added to it again when it is measured. As a planning guide, a copy going out is about your video bitrate without the overhead.
- Usage is metered by the bonding service. The definition of measured traffic — what is counted, and where it is measured — is confirmed with you in writing at onboarding, and that written definition is the one that applies.
- The Unlimited annual plan is for regular bonded streaming, several destinations or round-the-clock use, and is sold on the scope and fair-use terms confirmed with you in writing before it starts — including what the allowance covers: delivery, previews and downloads.
- Lumbus Connect does not replace another manufacturer’s proprietary bonding service, and we do not claim compatibility with one unless we have verified it with you.
5. Lumbus Studio (Studio and Studio Pro)
Lumbus Studio is a monthly subscription. Studio and Studio Pro differ in what they include (destinations, recording storage, retention, team access, support) as set out on the pricing page. You can change plan or cancel at any time; the change or cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, with no refund for the unused part. Studio is never bundled into a hardware purchase.
- Recordings are yours. We keep them for the retention of your plan — 14 days on Studio, 30 days on Studio Pro — and then delete them. Download what you want to keep before then; deleted recordings can’t be recovered.
- Retention and storage capacity are different limits. If storage fills before the retention period ends, recording pauses until files are removed or more storage is added. The live stream continues.
- Extra recording storage is a monthly add-on to the plan you already have. We do not offer unlimited recording storage.
- If you move to a plan with a shorter retention, the shorter retention applies from the start of your next period. We tell you before it happens so you can download first.
- When you cancel or destroy a studio, its recordings are deleted 7 days after the studio ends.
- Your studio runs in the region you choose. You may move it between trips; we prepare machines by hand in early access and tell you when yours is ready.
- Your studio is built never to end an active broadcast on its own. A lost connection, a schedule, a restart of the studio software or an update does not end a stream you are running; a stream ends when you end it. The exceptions are the ones in the general terms — suspension for non-payment or misuse, applied between streams wherever we can — and a failure of the machine or its hosting that we cannot prevent.
- To keep streaming when it cannot reach Lumbus, your studio machine holds a copy of its current settings, including the stream keys of your destinations, on its own disk for as long as the studio exists. It is deleted with the machine.
6. Hardware
Lumbus Niña and Lumbus Pinta are sold as a one-time purchase. Lumbus Admiral is configured, quoted and supplied as a project, on the terms set out in that quote. We do not offer hardware rental through this website.
- Returns: you may return unused hardware in its original condition within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the hardware price; you pay the return shipping and the original shipping isn’t refunded. Hardware that has been used, modified or damaged can’t be returned under this right. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
- Warranty: purchased hardware is covered for 12 months from delivery against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, subject to the supplier warranty terms confirmed with your order. We repair or replace at our choice. The warranty doesn’t cover drops, water, tampering, unauthorised modification, or the performance of any mobile network or streaming platform.
- Taxes, duties and shipping are quoted separately from the hardware price and depend on where the unit is delivered.
- Niña and Pinta ship with the Lumbus belt pack and a fitted 64 GB recording card; Admiral ships with the Lumbus backpack. Neither bag is sold or priced separately, and every Niña and Pinta includes the Lumbus Connect bonding allowance described in section 4.
- Specifications on the product pages come from the manufacturer datasheets we hold. A figure we do not hold is shown as a dash, never estimated; specifications may change between production runs, and the datasheet supplied with your unit is the one that applies. Admiral’s multi-camera mode is licensed separately and is quoted with the project.
- An Admiral project arranged privately — including any equipment supplied for the duration of a production — is governed by the separate agreement signed for that project.
7. How the service is delivered
Lumbus supplies, configures and supports the complete service. Selected parts of the service are delivered using third-party hardware, mobile network, bonding, hosting and storage providers. Coverage, speed and performance may vary by location, network conditions and provider availability.
Lumbus product names describe the service we manage for you — the configuration, the dashboard, the support and the billing. They are not a claim that Lumbus manufactures every component.
8. What you can stream
You must own or hold the rights to what you stream and record, and you must follow the rules of every platform you send it to (Kick, Twitch, YouTube and any other destination you add). Nothing unlawful, and nothing that puts other people at risk.
If you break these rules or don’t pay, we may suspend or end your Lumbus Live services. We give notice where we reasonably can; for ongoing abuse or a legal requirement we may act at once.
9. Support
What we promise, by plan, is on our support page. Studio Pro includes a priority line for stream-down incidents while you’re on a trip, around the clock, with a one-hour response target. Support targets are commitments to respond, not a guarantee that a stream, a network or a platform will never fail.
10. Responsibility and limits
We don’t control the mobile networks your connections use, the platforms you stream to, or your own encoder and camera. We’re not responsible for a stream that drops, viewers or income lost, or content that is lost or delayed because of them.
Except where the law doesn’t allow us to limit it — for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer — our total responsibility to you for Lumbus Live in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for Lumbus Live in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
11. Changes, ending, law
We may update these terms. We email you before a change that affects you takes effect; carrying on using Lumbus Live after that date means you accept it. You may end your subscriptions at any time as described above.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — this doesn’t take away protections you have as a consumer where you live.
