Just you and one SIMStreaming solo on one SIM
One mobile connection, one platform, no cloud production. Niña always streams through Lumbus Connect, one connection or ten. The 100 GB starter in the box is in use from your first stream and covers the first ones; after that, Lumbus Connect is bought in packs, only when you need the next one. The Unit is a purchase, not a plan: stop the SIM allowance and you still own a working transmitter/encoder.
On the road most daysOn the road, several SIMs at once
Four mobile connections bonded, scenes and an automatic be-right-back, most days of the week. Bonding is what uses Lumbus Connect — the stream in, plus a copy out to the studio — so most days of the week is Unlimited territory: one price for the year, and it never runs out mid-stream. The 100 GB starter in the box covers the first streams.
Streaming from one placeFixed location, Ethernet and Starlink
Two wired connections bonded, a few streams a week. No Lumbus SIMs at all. No Lumbus SIMs means no SIM allowance to buy — bonding Ethernet with Starlink still needs Lumbus Connect, and nothing else. You pay for the bonding you use.

What is not on any of these bills

  • A modem kit — the four modems are inside the Unit.
  • A bag — the belt pack (Niña, Pinta) or backpack (Admiral) is in the hardware price.
  • A compulsory SIM subscription — the Unit works on any connection you already have.
  • A compulsory cloud plan — Studio is optional, and monthly.
  • A rental contract or a minimum term on the hardware.
  • An activation fee, and no overage surprise: you get alerts before an allowance runs out.
  • A dead stream when a Lumbus Connect pack runs out — a free 20 GB bonding allowance bridges you to the next pack.

SIMs and Connect are two different things.

Multi-network SIMs get you online. Lumbus Connect combines two or more connections into one reliable stream.

On Pinta and Admiral, one connection streams without Lumbus Connect; two or more go through it. Niña streams through Lumbus Connect on every stream, one connection or ten — the starter in the box is in use from your first stream.

Billing rules
Hardware is a one-time purchase. The SIM allowance is monthly, or bought for a single trip. It is priced by zone and works in every country in its zone. Studio is a monthly subscription with a monthly allowance of hours on air and viewer hours; nothing is cut off when an allowance runs out, and more can be added for the month. Extra recording storage is monthly. Lumbus Connect is bought in packs, not monthly; packs expire on the validity shown, and a pack that runs out is bridged with a free 20 GB bonding allowance until your next one. Taxes, duties and shipping are shown separately. Nothing is preselected, and no service is added without you switching it on. Usage alerts before an allowance runs out. No surprise overage charges. You get an itemised summary and confirm it in writing before anything is billed.
The 100 GB in the box
Every Niña and Pinta includes a 100 GB starter bonding allowance for Lumbus Connect, valid for three months — enough to set up, test and run your first bonded streams. Lumbus Connect is used when combining two or more connections, and on Niña for every stream. The SIM allowance is sold separately.

Questions

Can I buy the hardware without a subscription?

Yes. Niña and Pinta are one-time purchases. SIMs, Lumbus Connect, Studio and storage are optional services you can add later or never.

Is there an app?

Yes. The free Lumbus Live app for iPhone and Android runs your stream from your phone and alerts you when something needs you. Same login as the web.

Yes. The Lumbus Live app for iPhone and Android carries your studio and your dashboard: scenes and Force BRB, go live and end stream, record and clip, destinations on or off, every connection and what is left of your SIM allowance (with a pause button and where the data went), alerts as pushes even with the app in the background, your trip and the support line. What is included with Niña and Pinta?

Yes, subject to network and device compatibility. On Pinta and Admiral, one active connection needs no Lumbus Connect and several bonded do; Niña streams through Lumbus Connect whatever the count. And it works the other way round: Lumbus SIMs are fitted in a Lumbus Unit when you buy one, or delivered to you to fit in hardware you already own.
